Price reduction for quick sale!! The Imperial Hotel, now known as the Vulcan Hotel, was originally built in 1902 in Frank, Alberta. After the rockslide at Turtle Mountain, the hotel was closed and it was moved by rail to the new town called Vulcan. It re-opened in the fall of 1912. If these walls could only talk! The Vulcan Hotel is located on a busy corner on Centre Street in downtown Vulcan. It has a restaurant and a tavern, as well as 20 hotel rooms. These are themed rooms, including a Canada room, a room for each province, and, of course, a Star Trek room. All rooms have tv, refridgerator, microwave, and free wifi access. There is a suite that could be used as living quarters if so desired. However the business is closed on September 2020 by the owner’s decision on personal reason, and the price is changed significantly with no business value. The buyer can purchase it as is and can re-open it with his desire.More details
The historic Kootenay Park Lodge was originally constructed in 1923 by the Canadian Pacific
Railway. The main Lodge and surrounding cabins are a piece of true Canadian history and an unapologetically rustic Rocky Mountain experience. Kootenay Park Lodge is the only development in Kootenay National Park and is centrally located, being approximately 45 minutes from Banff to the north-east, Lake Louise to the north-west and Radium Hot Springs to the south.
The property is 5 acres, highly visible from Hwy 93, with a dedicated turning lane and excellent parking including room for large campers, RVs and buses. Approximately 3 acres are currently developed and the site is bordered by the picturesque Vermilion River. Parks Canada has indicated support for development of the remaining land with an additional 14 cabins or serviced RV sites.
The most prominent building is the large General Store; built in the early 2000s. Offering 4000 sq feet of retail space, public washrooms and the only running water in all of Kootenay National Park, the large building faces the highway and is a very popular pit-stop for passing travelers. Currently half of the store is being used as retail space while the other half is an open multi-function space. A private and spacious three bedroom, two bath
owner’s residence is located on the upper floor. In addition to development of additional accommodation, other possible capital improvements include gas station (a previous amenity), café, and sustainable power generated on site via solar and water. The General Store offers a wide selection of grab-and-go breakfast items, baking, sandwiches, snacks and coffee in addition to unique gifts, Kootenay National Park clothing, and souvenirs.
The heritage guest cabins have recently been freshened up but maintain their original character. Four of the cabins still have Riverstone chimneys and wood-burning fireplaces while gas fireplaces can be found in two modern, duplex style cabins. Guest cabins are nestled in two curved rows between towering lodgepole pines. Built in the 1940’s, they are generously separated and offer incredible mountain views, privacy and parking for each guest. There are 12 cabins in total, each with a unique design:
• 2 new vermilion cabins, duplex design, 1 queen bed, leather pull out sofa, gas fireplace, kitchenette and 4 piece bath.
• 4 one-room heritage cabins with wood burning fireplace, one queen bed, 3 piece bath and small kitchenette.
• 3 one-room heritage cabins currently set up with two double beds, 3 piece bath and kitchenette.
• 3 two-room heritage cabins with various configurations, 3 piece bath and kitchenette.
The historic Lodge building sits on the opposite corner of the property to the General Store. This houses the restaurant, full commercial kitchen, and staff accommodation (up to 12). This glorious old log building has maintained its original charm with 30-foot cathedral ceilings and a large river rock fireplace in the center of the dining room.More details
