Kahane Law's Red Meat Party '09 Rocked

Well.. needless to say it was another rockin evening in Calgary's Pumphill district, as the 11th Annual Red Meat Party surged into the night. Countless friends, colleagues and client's of Kahane Law enjoyed the Studio 54 themed festivities with bell bottom jeans, Afro's of every color and description and the best collection of platform shoes I have seen since watching re-runs of Starsky and Hutch.
The food was once again indescribable, as every type of red meat you can think of was BBQ'd, smoked and otherwise cooked to the guests delight. Smoked prime rib, lamb chops, Montreal smoked meat and Jeff's dad's famous BBQ'd ribs were just a few of the items at the buffet table. The slush machines were workin overtime to keep up with the margarita's, and the ice sculpture with the tube running through it to chill the shooters was VERY cool. The DJ this year was a great addition, and Malla, the dance floor was hot, it must have taken for ever to finish.
Thanks to Jeff and Malla for a great evening, I can't imagine that they are even close to being done with the cleanup yet!
You can view the pictures on the Red Meat Party's Facebook page.
Can't wait to see what the theme will be for next year!
Cheers!
P.S. How about that chest hair, man I paid the price for that one!

Here is a new listing that I am happy to post in Calgary.
Excellent opportunity to acquire a well located restaurant and bar space on Calgary’s highly desirable 17th Avenue SW. This location offers strong exposure, steady traffic, a good patio, and the flexibility for a new owner to continue with the existing style of business or bring in an entirely new food and beverage concept.
The space is already set up as a full service restaurant and bar, but the real value is in the location, the lease, the patio, and the ease of conversion. The kitchen has been recently renovated, which gives a new operator a major head start and helps avoid the cost and downtime of a major back of house buildout. The front of house area can be refreshed or redesigned without a complicated renovation, making it a good fit for many different concepts, including casual dining, lounge, pub, cocktail bar, specialty cuisine, quick service, or a new branded restaurant.
The rent is very attractive for 17th Avenue SW and should be viewed as one of the strongest selling features of this opportunity. For an operator looking to control occupancy costs while securing a presence in one of Calgary’s best known restaurant and entertainment areas, this is a very compelling option.
This is a great opportunity for an owner operator, experienced restaurant group, or growing food and beverage brand looking for a flexible space in a strong inner city location. With a renovated kitchen, good lease economics, a patio, and the ability to rebrand or convert the decor with relative ease, this location provides a solid foundation for a new operator to step in and make it their own.

Turnkey Restaurant Opportunity – Granum, Alberta
Step into a magical space - a space that’s ready for a chef who’s looking to make their mark.
This completely redecorated and updated building has incredible touches of both hominess and whimsy. With funky nooks for dining and visiting – exposed brick walls, timber beams and hardwood floors, tin ceilings, and leather benches – it’s designed for the comfort and entertainment of visitors.
There’s even an elevated level for private gatherings that features unique décor and exceptional bench seating. From equipment to dishes, everything you need to open your own restaurant is already here and comes with the building.
To make things even more affordable and convenient – there is a back area currently used as a baking kitchen filled with sunshine … perfect for ice cream sales in the summer. With a bathroom and washer/dryer, this space could be easily doored off as a private suite.
Downstairs has a ton of room for storage and houses the newer furnace and hot water heater.
While the artwork and the clocks are part of the owner’s private collection, everything is negotiable.
Making things even more appealing is an adorable, attached 600 plus square foot two-bedroom, one bath, fully-renovated and furnished suite. It comes with washer dryer, dishwasher, tv, sofa and chair, fridge, stove and microwave. This space is currently rented and generating income.
The original building has been completely re-done. All windows and doors have been replaced, the roof has been insulted to R-40 standards and the roof covering has been replaced.
This is truly a unique, turnkey opportunity to walk in and start cooking. It’s a location that’s waiting for a creative chef, someone with a vision and the ability to market this special place and find out what it could really be. A destination dining experience… in a rural setting, in the hamlet of Granum, Alberta.

An excellent opportunity to acquire a locally focused sporting goods business built around affordability, community connection and practical service for families, athletes and recreational sports users. The business offers a strong mix of new and quality used sporting goods, supported by a simple buy, sell and trade model that gives customers a convenient way to turn unused equipment into cash, store credit or upgraded gear.
This concept is well suited to today’s market, where many families are looking for value, sustainability and access to quality equipment without paying full retail pricing. The business serves a broad customer base including parents, young athletes, adult recreational players, teams and individuals looking for affordable equipment across a range of sports and seasons.
In addition to retail sales, the business benefits from value added services that help bring customers back into the store, including equipment related repairs and service offerings. These additional services create another reason for customers to visit, build trust and support repeat business beyond a one time purchase.
The business also has an established online presence, including an ecommerce style product catalogue and community focused content that supports visibility, customer engagement and future growth. A new owner could continue operating the current model or look to expand inventory categories, team partnerships, online sales, local marketing, equipment service programs and community relationships.
This is a practical and approachable business opportunity for an owner operator, family buyer or entrepreneur looking for a retail business with community appeal, multiple revenue streams and room for further growth.
