LATEST STORIES For Today's News From Around the Web..

Well this is a first for me. A client texted me yesterday to let me know that he was sorry that the café in Canmore that he was considering buying had “ditched”. Unsure of what he meant, I called to ask. He informed me that a family member who lives in Canmore was told that the owners of the restaurant had done a “midnight move” and stripped the place bare. Not only that, but they had left a DEAD horse on the front lawn!

Not that I didn’t believe him or his kin, but I had to verify this disturbing turn of events. I called my good friend Frank Barbaro, owner of the great little Italian restaurant Santa Lucia. Frank confirmed that they had done exactly that, and it was a horse skeleton. Seriously….WTF.. why is the realtor always the last to know? Not that I would have showed up with my truck and helped move tables and chairs or anything like that,...

Counterfeit Canadian Money in Calgary

I just wanted to send out a warning to my friends and clients about some counterfeit Canadian currency making the rounds out there. It looks VERY real, but has some distinct markings if you and your staff look closely.

The serial number is missing.

There is writing that states "Prank Use Only" and "For Motion Picture Use Only" on the bills.

Tell your staff to be extra vigilant when accepting cash. Thank you to Annie MacInnis of the Kensington BRZ for the notification and Cst. David Harms of CPS for providing the images.

**SALE OF STAND ALONE RESTAURANT / BAR BUILDING WITH POTENTIAL LIVE WORK OPTION**

In the foothills of the Canadian Rockies and built in 2014, this 3786 sqft (+/-) stand-alone pub and liquor store is located on one of Southern Alberta’s busiest highways, in the historic western Village of Longview. This cool little town sits at the doorstep of Kananaskis Provincial Park and in the middle of Alberta’s cattle ranching heartland.

The exterior has a decidedly western theme, as does the interior, with lots of custom hand carved wood accents. There is a fully vented commercial kitchen as well as lots of storage. The liquor store has a large walk in beer fridge and can be operated completely separate from the Restaurant / Pub should you want to rent that side out.

The lot is .49 of an acre, which gives the business a good size parking lot as well as a nice size patio for those great summer days.

You really need to see this opportunity for yourself to understand the potential here, book a tour to see everything it has to offer!
