It was an amazing night of music, food and friendship at the University of Calgary Theatre on Monday night as the AHEPA Family, The Broken Plate Restaurants and the Alefantis Family sponsored an evening of music to benefit FARA and the search for a cure for Friedreich's Ataxia. This debilitating disease has recently touched the Greek community in Calgary and they rallied to raise as much money as possible to aid in researching a treatment and hopefully a cure. Dana and I were very grateful to be invited to attend this event by our good friend Diane Polesello on behalf of the Alefantis family.

Got an email this morning from my buddy Rob Hilditch of the Joey's Only group of companies, telling me he is growing a moustache (Texas handlebar with a soul patch I was later informed) to raise money for Prostate Cancer research. So after I stopped shaking with laughter and found my Blackberry on the floorboard of my truck, (all the while trying not to drive off the road) I fired up the laptop and donated $50 bucks to this physically impossible, yet very good cause on behalf of Rob's efforts.
Now we are all aware that Prostate Cancer is not a laughing matter (Rob's face with a handle bar is an entirely different kettle of fish) and this is something that has touched both Rob and I in our families. I would love to be able to join Rob in his quest to raise as much money as possible, but I have 2 problems,
1) As most of you know I have a pretty healthy Goatee and no issues with its growth.

I am proud to announce another Sale at 890 4 AVENUE SW in Calgary.
The Street Eatery is a fully licensed, full-service restaurant that opened in early 2016 and offers dine-in, take-out, and delivery. The Street Eatery’s menu consists of small plates, rice bowls, plates, sandwiches and burgers, and salads.
The food is globally inspired street food including Korean, Indian, Vietnamese, and American. The menu is very unique and is designed to appeal to a wide range of diets and preferences, as the menu is approximately 50% plant-based, and has many gluten-free options. Due to the large appeal of The Street Eatery’s menu including its “Street Shakes” and “Vegan Wings”, the restaurant has become a well-known destination. The Street Eatery was voted to have Calgary’s best vegan meal and dessert in 2019.
In November 2019, The Street Eatery launched a “ghost kitchen” delivery and take-out only “modern burger joint” called “Drippin Sauce”. Drippin Sauce’s menu consists of grass-fed beef burgers, Alberta free-run chicken burgers, plant-based burgers, fries, poutine, and milkshakes. This brand has been well received by guests, sales grew 400% during the covid-19 period. The kitchen is well equipped and can serve as an "open kitchen concept", and is fully vented with walk in fridge.
Here is a new listing that I am happy to post in Calgary.
This well run franchise restaurant is located in a vibrant Calgary community, surrounded by established residential neighborhoods with a strong mix of families and higher income households. The area provides a steady stream of loyal guests who enjoy the comfortable atmosphere, solid menu and family friendly touches that keep them coming back.
The business is exceptionally clean, well maintained and fully staffed, making it easy for a new owner to step in with confidence. A large regular clientele includes families with children who love the popular “treasure chest”, as well as couples, professionals, and retirees. The sunny patio offers additional seating during the summer months, further boosting sales.
Highlights:
Strong and steadily growing sales,
One of the best run locations within the brand,
Situated in a desirable residential area with strong demographics,
Established, loyal customer base across all age groups,

The current owner is committed to assisting with transition, and may be willing to remain on in a service role to personally introduce the new owner to staff, regular guests, and community partners, ensuring a smooth handover and business continuity
The current owners are preparing for retirement after years of successful operation. Their willingness to stay on for a transition period makes this a unique opportunity new owners can quickly establish themselves with the support of an experienced operator who knows the clientele, the systems, and the community.
Franchise opportunities of this caliber, with built in mentorship and a proven track record, are rare. Don’t miss your chance to step into a profitable, community rooted business with immediate cash flow and excellent growth potential.

**LOCATION INFORMATION IS NOT CORRECT AND IS BEING HELD BACK AT THE SELLERS REQUEST** The beauty of a true neighbourhood pub is that it’s where the locals go, where neighbours meet, the social hub of a community. This pub is the definition of this, and they don’t come along in NW Calgary very often. This location has a great community reputation, with a ton of regular clientele. It is surrounded by single family homes, parks and recreational areas, lots of seasonal activities that you could use to build business.
There is a very well equipped kitchen, giving you the ability to pursue a strong culinary program. The room is wide open with good sight lines and lots of options for how you would like to lay out games and tables. There are also VLT’s that will help with passive income.
Please call to discuss this location in more details and get the due diligence package. |
